Sunday School
Sunday school classes are available for all ages from Toddler (ages 2-3) through Adult. Sunday school begins at 9 a.m. and lasts until 9:45 a.m.  Each classroom follows a Bible-based curriculum specifically geared for that age group.  During the summer months we have a single Sunday School class for all children called Camp Salem and no 10:15 am class.

Jr. Church
During the 10:00 a.m. worship service, students preschool age through second grade may attend junior church in the junior youth room. The students are dismissed to this activity by the pastor after the children’s sermon. During this time period, the students will usually listen to a Bible story, make a craft and/or play games.

Church Nursery
During the 10:00 a.m. worship service, an excellent nursery is provided for children up to kindergarten age. In addition, there is a closed circuit television available in the nursery which broadcasts the service for those parents who wish to stay with their children. However, two adults and one teen/pre-teen will always be on duty in the nursery in compliance with the safe church policy.

Safe Child Church Policy
Salem has instituted a safe child church policy in order to create a safe environment in which our children can learn about God’s love and grow in their faith. A copy of the main portion of Salem’s policy is posted in every classroom and you can read them online by clicking here.

OTHER YOUTH ACTIVITIES
Jr. Youth and Middle Youth Group
The junior and middle youth group meets regularly and is open to all students ages kindergarten through 6th grade. Their program is designed to provide opportunities for our youth to have fun and make new friends in a safe, God-centered environment. Events enjoyed by the youth this year include a trip to Pump It Up, a Halloween party/carnival, pizza and a trip to see the Chicken Little Movie, Christmas caroling to the shut-ins, Bowling and the annual Easter egg hunt.

Senior Youth Group
Senior youth is open to all students ages confirmation on up. The group usually meets twice a month and their activities are varied and student selected. The group’s mission is to provide opportunities for Salem youth to “hang out” in a Christian Fellowship environment, expand their circle of friends to fellow Christian youth in the area and provide opportunities to work in the community and within Salem.

Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible school is usually held in early-mid June and runs Sunday through Wednesday in the evening. The Women’s Guild provides a light supper prior to the evening activities. This event is a great deal of fun for ages preschool through 5th grade. Group (non-denominational) curriculum is primarily used for this event.

Sunday School Christmas Play / Musical
Every year, the Sunday school (ages nursery through 7th grade) performs a play or musical for the congregation usually on the second Sunday of December. Practices for the play start in early November and are held during the Sunday School time. All students are invited to be a part of this fun event.
